About Herdyne

I believe that happiness and sadness exist in a delicate balance. The goal is to not allow our unhappiness to overtake the good times, the successes and the laughter and joys in order to maintain our emotional well-being.
Dealing with grief has piqued my interest since I was a little girl. I remember attending funerals with my father and wondering, “why do people die?” “why do people cry?” “How can we overcome death?” existential questions that my six-year-old self could not answer. As an adult, however, it dawned on me one day that there is a way to defeat death. It is by living life: fully and intentionally. It is by recognizing that every moment we have breath in our lungs is a gift from God. It is by preparing for tomorrow without fearing any curveballs that may be thrown our way.

Facts about Herdyne:

Wisdom is my favorite word on the planet because of one of my favorite bible verses.
“Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.” Proverbs 4:6

I enjoy movies with happy endings where true love prevails. Give me Pretty Woman, Coming to America, Love & Basketball, and What’s Love Got To Do With It any day. I don’t care for horror flicks and suspenseful dramas give me heart palpitations. You have been warned; do not sit next to me unless it’s a chick flick!

I love the beach. I enjoy the sounds of the waves and distant birds as the background music behind my children playing in the sand. I love the sight of my husband on the grill preparing some of my favorite foods. I love a good adventure whether it’s a road trip or traveling overseas.

I enjoy game shows. My dream of being a contest on Family Feud came true.

Singing, dancing & laughing
The sound of Whitney Houston and 90s R&B will never die. I love gospel music; it recharges my soul. I love the romantic connection I feel with my husband while dancing Haitian Kompa.

Favorite quote:
“When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” Maya Angelou.

I am very animated and enjoying texting how I feel using GIFs. I am the Queen of text emotions.

Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get girlfriends time. My goal is to get away each year on a mom trip.
